My personal story starts where most Western stories do…in the dirt, grit, and early mornings of a training arena. I grew up around horses, rodeo clinics, and guest ranches out West. From the time I was eight, I felt a deep connection to Western culture, not just the aesthetics, but the values: resilience, honesty, freedom, and grit. That spirit shaped how I do business in every endeavor.
Modern West Media was born from that same mentality. While our brand wears boots and denim, our work drives results for growth-hungry businesses across industries. But as I had no land of my own, I sought out how to still be helpful in this space. I ended up volunteering for a local rescue organization, Safe Harbor Equine and Livestock Rescue, where with my experience, I was tasked with going out and providing the initial intake evaluation of new horses. It was sad what I saw, but I learned so much. From beginner groundwork to finishing a hard-mouthed horse for adoption, I loved every minute. As life evolved and I’m now in the market for the next horse of my own, it dawned on me.
My professional experience is in marketing and online advertising… but my passions so deeply lie in equine and Western culture… why not meld the two? I also started my creator-led accounts, Nikki In Nashville, to shed more light on the country music artists of today that are keeping the traditional country/Western sound alive, and not the pop stuff you hear on the radio.
